The PosiTector SmartLink turns your phone or tablet into a full-featured inspection gauge. It hooks up with compatible DeFelsko probes (coating thickness, surface profile, environmental, etc.) via Bluetooth LE, and uses the free PosiTector App to display, record, share, and report measurements instantly.

Supplied in the UK by DFT Instruments, every SmartLink comes with certification, local support, and the accessories to get started straight away—probe is purchased separately so you can use the module with probes you already have or choose just what you need.

FAQ’s

What does the SmartLink do?

It converts compatible DeFelsko probes into a wireless measurement device. The readings transmit via Bluetooth to your smart device using the PosiTector App, where you can view, store, report, and sync.

Which probes work with SmartLink?

Compatible probes include PosiTector 6000, SPG / SPGS, RTR-H, and DPM / DPMS that were manufactured after January 2006. Some older or specialized probe types (e.g., FNDS, FJS, certain legacy probes) are not supported

Do I need an internet connection?

No. SmartLink works with your device even offline. Reporting, note-taking, and photo attachment all work without internet. Internet is needed only for cloud backup / syncing with PosiSoft.net if you choose those features.

How is data stored and shared?

Readings are stored in your Smartphone or Tablet within the PosiTector App. You can export them as PDF or CSV, attach photos/images, add notes, and share via email, Dropbox, etc.

What is LED tri-colour used for?

The LED gives you quick status feedback: connection state, successful measurement, errors, etc., so you can use it in low-visibility or noisy environments.

How long does the battery last?

Since it uses just one AAA battery and the Bluetooth LE module is efficient, battery life is generally good. Exact life depends on probe type, frequency of use, and whether features like LED / app are used heavily.

Is it complicated to set up?

Not at all. Setup is simple: install the free PosiTector App, connect your compatible probe, power on SmartLink, pair via Bluetooth, and start measuring.

What’s the warranty?

SmartLink comes with a 2 year warranty via official DeFelsko / DFT channels.
